Crafty Me

I have so many ideas and so many things I want to do (craft wise) and absolutely no time to do them. It takes me several days just to knit a simple tiny hat. Ugh! Someday I'll have all the time in the world, but for now I'll have to just be thankful for any spare 5 minutes I find. Here are some of the things that are waiting to be created:

An adorable dress.

A tiny hat from this book.

The other leg to Evelyn's knit leg warmers.

A crayon roll up for a friend.

And of course Trainers for Luke and diapers for Evelyn. Along with trying my hand at knit longies.

AH! If only there were more hours in the day!

(YAWN)

I don't know why, but I've been seriously tired lately! It's hard to keep up with all of my stay at home mom duties. It's definitely a job that never ends. I appreciate my mom and dad so much more now that's for sure! I can't imagine how they did it with me as an infant. They tell me that I cried almost non stop for the first 3 months of my life. How did they not pull their hair out? Maybe that's the real reason why my dad always had fancy ear plugs laying around... Hmmm...
Anyway, I caught a couple fun pictures of the kiddos today. Evie was in a great mood and Luke actually stayed in the room when I got the camera out. He wouldn't smile though. Oh well! I wish I could figure out how to put video's on here because I would love to share with all of you how much he is talking now. It's so fun to actually have a conversation with him and it not be one sided. I love to see his little personality come out a little more. It does remind me that he's growing up though and that makes me a little sad. Can't he stay little forever???

This smile just makes my day:

Look what I found!

I guess we're going to have 2 thumb suckers in our family!

Oh, and just to let you know Luke is boycotting camera's at the moment. He actually runs and hides when I get it out. There may not be any pictures of him for a few days!

Sick, Sick, Sick

We've all (but Evelyn, thank goodness) had a bug of some kind or another. Sorry about not posting. I'm just waiting for the day when we all wake up healthy again. Will it ever come?
On another note, I've been taking lots of pics of our adorable kiddos, but they are on the camera that can only connect to our desktop and that my friends is on strike for the time being. I wonder if I can convince my bro to come and visit and fix our ancient computer??? Pretty please???

The not so happy birthday:(

The day started off great! We sang Happy Birthday to the little man when he woke up, I made him his favorite waffle pancakes for breakfast, he opened presents (and loved them all), he wore his cute Mickey pants and he was so excited for his balloons. He went down for his nap and the day quickly took a nose dive. Evelyn started yelling and didn't stop. Luke woke up after an hour and a half (he usually sleeps 2-3 hrs). Evelyn kept yelling. Ugh! It was turning into one of those days. I kept thinking, "Not on my little boys birthday, please!" Then it happened. JD was on his way home and I was relieved to have some help to rescue me. Luke, Evie and I were in our bedroom changing Evie's diaper when Luke trips on Rome's bed and falls head first into Evelyn's drawers. He starts to cry so I scoop him up and comfort him. I didn't' look at his injury right away. I hear our front door open and JD come in. I pull Luke away from my shoulder and see the slice, blood, swelling and blue eyelid. I yell for JD to come quick. Oh, and all the while Evelyn is screaming because she's left on our bed with no diaper on. So, I start crying (stinkin' hormones) so Luke starts crying all over again. JD runs to get ice while we all calm down. We get a better look at his injury and go back and forth about taking him to the ER. JD says we need to, but all I could think of was that it was his birthday and he's only turn 2 once. How could this happen on this day? We ask a neighbor what they think and they say we need to take him in. So, we pack up the kids and off we go. Long story short- we were there for 3 1/2 hrs and were given the option of stitches so we opted not to. My little man didn't have cake or get to blow out candles for his birthday. He ate McDonalds for dinner and had to sit in a tiny ER room for hours on his birthday. I'm sad for this. I know he won't remember it, but I just wanted him to have a fun 2nd birthday.

I'll post birthday pictures of him before the injury soon, but here's the birthday boy asleep in his car seat after the ER visit:
