Smile Luke

Even on the days that I don't really feel well all I have to do is look at this sweet face and I can't help but smile. Today we were in the living room and I grabbed the camera. All I had to say to Luke was, "Smile,Luke!" and this is the face he gave me.
I am so very blessed to have this little guy in my life. I treasure every day I have with him knowing that it's a miracle from God that he's here in our family. I never realized how much I could love someone until I had him. And there's really no way to explain it to others. If you have children you know what I'm talking about.
Alright, Luke's now saying, "Mom, mom, mom" so I'd better go. His first birthday is right around the corner so be on the lookout for some great pics (Auntie's coming!!!).

Luke

I was so bored today for some reason. I have lots to do around here, but really didn't want to do any of it. Instead I played with Luke, went shopping and just hung around here. What an uneventful Friday! Ever have days like this? Days when you know you should be/ could be doing things, but instead you just do nothing of importance.
The pictures were taken at lunch today. The lighting was great and Luke was in a good mood (which he usually is when he's eating). He does have food on his face, but what can you do? He's still cute! I can't believe that we only have 13 days left until he turns one! Where did the time go? Where did my little baby go? I cleaned out a couple of his drawers today and had to put away lots of clothes that he can no longer fit. It made me sad. He's no longer tiny. He's almost a toddler!! I can't believe it!

Bath Tub

I just heard from 2 different people today that they check my blog almost every day to catch up with our family. That just amazes me and makes me feel so honored that people really do want to know what's going on in our lives. It also makes me realize that I really need to post more on here. As I get more comfortable with this mom thing, I'm realizing that I can do things than just wipe baby noses and feed Cheerios. I can have a life! So, with that realization I now have the responsibility to keep up with this blog. Here's my attempt!

I took this picture yesterday and love it! When 7pm rolls around every night I announce to Luke that it's bath time. He smiles at me, but I'm not sure yet if he really understands. JD gets the bath ready while I strip down Luke and get his towel. As soon as we get into the bathroom he gets a wide grin on his face and strains to see the water. I plop him down in his tub and he immediately puts the washcloth in his mouth and starts splashing with his hands. As he sits and plays for 10 minutes I'm taken back to my childhood days of splashing in the tub with my brother and sister. Boy did we have a blast! I love that Luke loves the water! I love that I can pore a pitcher over his head and he just smiles at me. Bath time is a highlight for both of our days and not because it's right before bedtime. It's just a magical time that I will cherish and remember forever.

More pictures

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to post. Luke is cruising on the furniture and trying really hard to crawl off of his stomach. I guess the army man crawl is getting old for him. He's trying to cut some more teeth, so it's been a few sleepless nights for us. Poor baby! I look at these pictures and wish that we were back in sunny Florida enjoying family and all that Disney has to offer. I miss the mouse!

A family shot.

Luke loved seeing the fish swim around the tunnel aquarium. My mom did too! We were at Sea World.

The family at the dolphin underground aquarium. They were so neat to watch!

Luke and I at Sea World.

My bro and I acting silly at the Bug's Life 3D show.

And finally Cinderella's Castel lit up at night. So beautiful!

SNOW!!

We woke up to this on New Year's Day! Can you believe how much snow was on the ground? I'm still in shock! We now have over a foot of snow, and we're loving it. Our dog, Rome, loves to play in it. Luke loves to look at it. JD loves to make things with it. And I love every aspect! I'm sure in a few days I'll be over it, but right now I want to make a snow angel and pull Luke in his little sled. FUN FUN!
